investors who just can't hack it
Investors who hold mini bonds backed by Lehman Brothers have been marching through the streets of the CBD crying foul, alleging that they weren't fully informed of the risks involved. Sore losers! The regulatory authority is only responsible for approving the advertisements, its role does not include monitoring investor exposure to counterparty risk! Plus, I seriously doubt that any investor would have considered the mini bonds risky if they were initially told that the counterparty was Lehman Brothers, a household name with good credit ratings and listed on the NYSE! The investors should take the loss and move on. Neither the government nor the regulatory authority should assist these irresponsible investors with recovery of their capital. At the end of the day, these investors just made bad investments. They have no one to blame but themselves.
