Something funny happened on my way home from work on Thursday. I had just jumped on the bus heading for home.
The female bus driver asked, "How are you?"
I thought she had asked, "Who are you?" I really should have knew better but anyway. I asked, "What?"
She said, "How are you?"
I said, "Oh I'm sorry, I've had a bad day at the office."
I proceeded to find a seat. She then called me to the front and asked, "Where do you get off?"
I said, "2nd last stop."
It turned out that this was her 1st time driving this route and since I was the only person on the bus at that time, she asked me to be her navigator and I agreed. For a short while we did not have any new passengers and she asked me about my bad day at work. I gave her an extremely short version of what goes on in our office and how the boss is unloyal and fires at least one person every month.
She asked, "Is your boss Australian?"
I said, "Yes, absolutely."
She asked, "Why won't anyone report him to the authorities?"
I said, "They have but because he's an ex-cop, he's well respected and no one would do anything."
She said, "You need to get out of that place girl, you deserve better than that!"
I said, "I know and I will quit very soon."
This lady made my day! Isn't it good to know that someone out there understands and cares?
I went to poker night at my friend's place yesterday. I played my 1st ever game of poker and I thoroughly enjoyed it despite the fact that I ended the night $10 in the red. What I like most about poker is that it is more about human psychology than the quality of one's hand. Now I know why Bill Gates likes this game so much!
Happy holidays (to be politically correct) everybody!
